DEXA Body Composition

One number on the scale. Four answers from the scan.

A DEXA scan passes low-dose X-ray over you and splits the result into fat, lean muscle, and bone density, mapped region by region instead of lumped into a single weight. Hospitals and research labs treat it as the reference standard, and that same instrument is open to you across the Phoenix metro in under 8 minutes. You leave knowing where your strength sits, where it is thinning, and what the mirror was never going to show.

>10%
How far off a smart scale can run. A DEXA scan reads at roughly ±2%, the gold standard for body composition worldwide.

VO₂ Max Test

The number that tracks how long you last.

VO₂ Max measures how much oxygen your body can pull in and convert to work when you push. Read it as more than a training stat. It is the most powerful longevity marker in modern medicine, sitting ahead of smoking, blood pressure, and cholesterol. You wear a mask, walk or run on a treadmill at one of our Phoenix-area centers, and we find your ceiling. Then we hand you the plan to raise it.

The least-fit quintile dies at roughly 5 times the rate of the most fit, across 122,007 people (Mandsager et al., JAMA 2018).

Resting Metabolic Rate

Your nutrition plan starts with a guess.

An RMR test reads the calories your body burns at rest, the baseline every nutrition plan is supposed to sit on. Generic calculators lean on age, height, and weight, and they can miss your real rate by 20 to 30%. That gap is why progress stalls and macros stop working. You breathe into a mask for 15 minutes at any of the three Phoenix-area centers and walk out with a number pulled from your own metabolism, not from an average.

±20%
The common gap between an estimated metabolic rate and a measured one. That margin is why so many nutrition plans stall before the results show up.
